Council continues to support Junior Council

The Junior Council is set to get funding from the City following the Junior Council Policy formulation process held recently. Speaking during the Junior Council Policy formulation programme, Mayor Jacob Mafume said there is need for clear funding and proper management of Junior Council activities as it is an important programme for the City's governance. The Junior Council programme is essential in grooming and preparing Junior Councillors to become future leaders. "The Junior Council draft policy needs to be clear on funding and recruitment. The City needs to make budgetary commitment to the funding of the Junior Council,” said Mayor Mafume. The City also needs to work together with other junior councils nationally. Mayor also encouraged the Junior Councillors to be responsible citizens and encourage their peers to do the same.
