Road Maintenance Superintendent
Position Overview
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the above vacancies in the Roads Division of the Department of Works in the City of Harare.
Job Purpose
Responsible for planning, organization, execution and monitoring of operations relating to maintenance of existing road network, construction of new roads and management of resources including the attendant administrative work in line with SADC road standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized college
‘O’ Level qualifications.
At least 5years of Senior Supervisory experience in road construction and maintenance.
Proven Road Construction and Maintenance Projects undertaken.
A Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence. OR
“O’ Level qualifications
At least 8 years of continuous experience acting in the position of Superintendent.
At least 10 years working experience at Road Maintenance Officer level in road construction and/or maintenance.
Proven Road Construction and Maintenance Projects undertaken.
Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of road construction/maintenance equipment, materials, methods and standards
Project planning, organizing, implementation, evaluating and prioritizing skills;
Using initiative and independent judgment within general policy guidelines
Report writing, Communication and interpersonal skills
Computer applications related to the work.
